People look for family in Syrian prison
After a big change in Syria, many people went to a prison to look for their family members. This prison was known for holding people who did not agree with the government. A man named Dr. Sharvan Ibesh went there to help his friend find her father. They did not find him. Many people were coming out of the prison. A group called the White Helmets is looking for more people in the prison.
Dr. Ibesh also went to a mosque where families meet people who leave the prison. He saw people who were free but very confused. They did not remember their names or how old they were. Families are happy to see some people again, but they are still looking for many others. One woman, Fayzah, hopes to see her son who has been missing for 12 years. Her son's child, Mustafa, wants to see his father who was taken when he was a baby.
The prison held many people who did not agree with the government. A group says the prison was a very bad place. The war in Syria started in 2011. The government kept many people in places where they were not treated well. People are still looking for their loved ones who were taken to the prison.
